Morning dew still clings to the grass, the air is cool, and a garden gate rattles somewhere down the path. Damp soil, old timber, the first patches of sun - and that unmistakable smell settling in like it owns the place.

Early Skunk Seeds

Early Skunk

Outdoor classic for cool summers, big plants, and early maturity

Early Skunk by Sensi Seeds is a feminized cross of Skunk #1 and Early Pearl - bred for growers who want classic Skunk character to finish reliably even in shorter, wetter outdoor seasons. With 35% sativa and 65% indica, she is clearly indica-dominant, while still carrying enough sativa influence to shape her bright, mild high and vigorous growth.

In the grow, Early Skunk is vigorous, resilient, and strongly outdoor-focused. Sensi describes her as a tough, early-finishing cultivar for cool to cold climates, with strong mould resistance, XXL yields, and plants that grow substantially during flowering and can easily exceed two metres. Flowering time is around 55-65 days - short enough to make Skunk genetics viable where autumn does not stay friendly for long.

Aromatically, Early Skunk stays classic and grounded: quite noticeable during flowering, then milder, sweeter, and skunky rather than overloaded after harvest. The effect combines a light, clear sativa high with the warm, physically relaxing stone of the Skunk side - munchies included. A cultivar for balconies, gardens, and sunny outdoor spots where reliability, size, and true Skunk robustness matter more than chasing the latest exotic profile.

Genetics

Sensi Seeds
Sensi Seeds has established itself over decades as one of the most influential names in the cannabis industry. Behind the company stands visionary founder Ben Dronkers, who began traveling the world in the 1970s, collecting landrace strains from Central and Southeast Asia, the Himalayas, and other regions. These global expeditions paved the way for groundbreaking cannabis strains that continue to set industry standards today.

Autoflower

Autoflowering cannabis strains are hybrids with Ruderalis genetics that bloom independently of light cycles. This trait evolved as an adaptation to northern climates with short summers. Unlike photoperiod strains, which require specific light cycles to flower, autoflowers begin flowering automatically after a growth period of approximately 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the genetics. Their short lifecycle—usually around 70 to 80 days—makes them ideal for quick harvests, whether grown indoors or outdoors.

Autoflowers are popular among beginners and experienced growers alike due to their simplicity and ability to produce multiple harvests in a year. High-quality autoflowers are often resilient to cold, pests, and mold, though breeding quality plays a crucial role. Poorly bred autoflowers may be more prone to mold or stress-related issues. Their compact size (typically 75–100 cm) makes them well-suited for small spaces or discreet setups. Additionally, in regions with unpredictable weather or short summers, their rapid lifecycle allows them to bypass extreme conditions before harvest.

Photoperiod

Photoperiod cannabis strains require specific light cycles to trigger their flowering phase. In nature, this phase begins when days grow shorter—typically in late summer or autumn. The process is regulated by light-sensitive proteins called phytochromes. In indoor cultivation, growers replicate these conditions by adjusting the daily light schedule from 18 hours of light (vegetative phase) to usually 12 hours of light and darkness (flowering phase).

Photoperiod strains often offer greater variety and potency than autoflowers, as their genetic pool is broader and not limited by Ruderalis genetics. However, some autoflowers are beginning to close the gap in both potency and diversity. These strains are favored by experienced growers because they allow precise control over growth, size, yield, and cannabinoid profiles. However, they require meticulous management of light cycles, temperature, humidity, and nutrients to achieve optimal results.
